TeamD heads to Brazil

2006-11-29

Fresh of some big wins in both freestyle and creek racing, Team Dagger paddlers Andrew Holcombe, Rush Sturges, and Pat Keller are headed south for some big creek action in Brazil. After making the US freestyle team and taking a quick break Andrew and Rush were excited at the chance for some warm water creeking and to film for upcoming segments for both YGP and LVM. Rush had an unexpected surprise when he had to begin his travels by himself. “One of the guys headed down with us lost his passport so I am going it alone for the first few weeks until John (Grace), Andrew, and Pat arrive. I’m sure I can pass the time. This place is insane”. Pat Keller was excited as he called me while packing for the trip. “I got my creeking game on; I’m ready to fire up some big shit”. Pat recently won both the long and short boat divisions at the Green race and the overall title of “Greenman”. Needless to say Pat is one of the World’s top creek boaters and will be sure to run the goods while there. Andrew Holcombe is feeling the same way as he place 2nd right behind Pat in both divisions and upsetting the field at the Green in only his first appearance there. Andrew had this to say about the trip. “I’m excited to travel and paddle with these guys. Everyone is ready to go and find some beautiful runs. It’s going to be awesome”. John Grace will be along for the trip documenting all the action for an upcoming issue of LVM and running the big stuff too. Be sure to check back at TeamDagger.com for updates and photos in the next few weeks.
