Team Dagger Has Solid Showing at Teva Mountain Games
Jun 08, 2010
Team Dagger athlete, Andrew Holcombe, could have been called ‘steady Eddie’ this past weekend at the Teva Mountain Games, in Vail, Colo. Showing his strength in all disciplines, he placed top five in all three events. Tao Berman focused on speed, with third place finishes in each of the downriver events.
Andrew, coming off some big, downriver wins from the end of 2009, continued to log fast times with a second place in the renowned Homestake Creek Race and a fourth in the Downriver Sprint. He paddled the Dagger Nomad 8.5 and the Dagger Green Boat, respectively. Proving that he’s a multi-talented paddler, he also took fifth in the freestyle contest in his Agent 6.2. Paddle of choice? The AT 2 SL.
Fresh off a recent big air contest win (not at Teva), Tao opted to focus exclusively on downriver this past weekend. Paddling the Nomad 8.5 in the Homestake Creek Race and the Dagger Green Boat in the Downriver Sprint, he made the podium with third place finishes in each. Tao also uses the AT 2 SL paddle.
Team Dagger’s Brad Ludden finished in eighth place in the Homestake Creek Race. Corey Volt finished in fifteenth in freestyle. Congratulations to all the competitors, with a special shout to our “extended” family of teammates on Team Wave Sport and the dominance of Tanya Faux. Thank you, Team Dagger and everyone at the Teva Mountain Games, for continuing to foster the spirit we love in kayaking.
