Favorite place to paddle/favorite drop: The steep creeks of the Appalachian mountains in the fall and California high sierra country in the summer.
About Me: Hailing from the
flat lands of Florida, I moved to the mountains of North Carolina soon
after graduating from high school. It is there that I was fortunate
enough to be introduced to whitewater kayaking eight years ago. Since
then I have spent as much time as possible on the river. When I am not
working on the water as a kayak instructor, I like to get out and
explore the world's steepest creeks by way of my Nomad.
Playboat: Kingpin 6.2
Creekboat: Nomad 8.5

Favorite Music: Most of it
Must-Have Accessory: My Macbook Pro
Other Hobbies/Activities: Sea kayaking, mountain biking, road biking, backpacking... I just like being outside.
Professional Accomplishments: I have finished top three in the
women's division of the Green Race all four times I competed,
including a tie for first place in 2008. I finished second place in the
Russell Fork Race in both 2008 and 2009 and received first in the 2010 race. I have also competed in a
number of other races including the Cherry Creek Race, Watauga Race and the Giant Slalom
Race on the Green with similar placings.
Why you love kayaking: Wow,
there's so many reasons. I love it because of the places it takes me
and the people is introduces me to. I love it because when I am sitting
at the top of a big rapid my mind is clear and nothing else but that
rapid matters. I love it because its a great excuse to get outside and
exercise with the people you love. I love that it challenges me, both
mentally and physically. I pretty much love everything about it.
